On Broadway Academy – Curriculum

On Broadway Academy offers a unique, well-rounded triple threat curriculum where students develop the skills, confidence and techniques necessary to succeed outside of the Academy. If you or your child have a passion for music theatre, there is simply no better place for you to receive training. We hire only the best faculty with degrees as well as years of professional experience on the stage. CLICK HERE to visit our faculty page! We excel in training students to play leads in their school and community musicals, get accepted to universities, receive scholarships in the performing arts, as well as perform on Broadway. Our auditioned Companies are designed to give our students purposeful performing opportunities while building their resumes. In the past year, our Companies have performed for or with the Governor, Hollywood producers, Oscar winning movie director Kieth Merrill, YA Director Randy Boothe, the biggest casting agency in Utah, Broadway star Dallyn Vail Bayles, Broadway director Jeff Whiting, and more. They will tour to several music theatre University programs around the State, to Tuacahn, and NYC where they will workshop with Broadway stars, see Broadway shows, and perform!

What Students and Parents Say About On Broadway Faculty

renova

“We chose On Broadway Academy (even though we live very close to another musical theater school) because of the high caliber of the instructors. I asked myself who I wanted to mentor my child…and I chose the teachers at OBA. The costume fee is reasonable, the facilities are new and the location is central for North Utah County. My child has successfully auditioned for school and local productions and feels like her instruction at OBA has prepared her to get cast! OBA class focus is very practical for real world audition experiences. I particularly recommend the Summer Intensive workshops! My child came to OBA 4 years ago because she was afraid to sing in front of people. It terrified her. She has had many opportunities to sing in front of small and large audiences. Every performance has helped her to be more confident and be able to share her talents.”

“We love On Broadway Academy! Our girls have been a part of the academy from its beginnings. We are especially grateful for the high quality training our daughters receive from excellent, well accredited teachers in all three areas- voice, dance & acting. On Broadway Academy focuses on proper technique and this has helped our girls excel as they have won acting competitions, auditioned and gotten lead roles in community theater, at their schools, at The Scera and at Hale Center Theater. Our girls love Music Dance Theater and On Broadway Academy is helping them develop their talents and reach that goals!”

I train at On Broadway Academy because of the amazing teachers and the unique performing opportunities. All of the teachers have experience working as performers in the real world and so can teach their students how to succeed in the business. At On Broadway we get opportunities to perform not only at showcases and master classes for parents, but with established artists like Jenny Oaks Baker and the Odyssey Dance Theatre. I love the support and individual training I can get there. My teachers care about me as an individual and truly want me to be the greatest performer I can be. When I first started learning from Mindy I had huge confidence issues and would totally freeze up and want to cry whenever I was placed before an audience. But I loved to sing and wanted to be able to touch others with music the way I had been touched. Mindy helped me develop the skills to sing with confidence and good technique! On Broadway has shaped the person I am today.

“I got the privilege of being part of On Broadway Academy last year, and honestly, every Thursday night was the highlight of my week! Between the cute girls, the incredible directors, and the constant performing, there was never a dull moment at OBA. I made some incredible relationships not only with other kids but with our instructors that taught me so much- more than just developing my talents. And at the end of the year we celebrated with an unforgettable trip to New York, making my year at On Broadway an experience I will cherish for the remainder of my life. Thank you OBA! S/O to the Balsers, Robbins’s, J. Madsen, Mama Higbee, Jeana Paey, all the adults who helped, and to my three boys ChanChan, MaxiePad, and J. Dayton.”
